Introduction| Craig Vernon

Number Two

My name is Craig Vernon a.k.a. Nick Taylor. I hail from the west central Utah town of Oak City. I have served in the Marine Corps, worked on drill rigs, and most recently graduated from Snow College. Nick Taylor is a pseudonym that I created while working for a telephone survey company and was the first thing that popped into my head when I created my Google account.

I thought to myself then said to H.D., "It sure feels good walking down the street with enough money in my pocket to bail myself out of jail for anything I am currently guilty of." I spent the last fiften years of my life drilling for gold or natural gas somewhere in the western United States. This means I spent 10 months a year living in some motelroom, eating in resturants or out of convience stores, but mostly on the back side of a drill rig. The only real difference between drilling for gold and drill for gas is you keep the dirt from the holes you drill for gold. I have drilled in Gillette, Wyoming in the winter when the tempature was minus seventeen, to Yuma, Arizona at the end of July when the tempature was one hundred and seventeen. It was hard work but it was a great life.On March 23, 1993 while attempting to remove stuck drill pipe from a hole near Eureka, Utah when my fingers became hung up in a chain and were pulled down into a sprocket. Even though I continued to work on drilling rigs this event forever impacted who I became. If you have ever wondered about mineral exploration, oil, gas drilling or the lifestyle of a roughneck ask me about it.
