Trent's interesting fact expanded

Hello, my name is Trent. Something about me that is sometimes very interesting is my stupidity. One specific experience last week proved this fact once again. I was in the passenger seat of my older brother's red Ford truck as we cruised along a windy dirt road, high in the Abajo Mountains. I had proven to be a useful buck spotter, so Jamin was again bringing me along to aid in his archery hunt. As we rounded a turn, I thought I saw something big and black disappear into the trees on the right side of the road. Jamin pulled forward to the spot where it had been, and our eyes began scanning the steep hill to the side of the road. Through the trees I saw, for the first time in my life (in the wild), a black bear. She was beautiful! Jamin tried to take a picture, but she disappeared over the hill top. My brother, having had twenty months longer to develop his own stupidity, turned to me and asked, "Ya wanna go after it?" Of course, everyone knows that only a great fool chases after bears just for fun. I replied, "Let's go!"

Up the steep hill we scrambled. The embarassment that would have accompanied my wheezing was consoled by the fact that Jamin's was even louder. At the top of the hill, we stopped to look around. As I looked to the left, I froze. "Jamin, look." Not twenty yards away from us was something that an experienced outdoorsman never wants to see up close when there is a bear around. It was a bear cub.

I realize that the story so far is incomplete, but I remind you that the point of it is to prove my stupidity. The first part of the story is all that is necessary to do so. Thank you for reading!
