Moment|kristiwright

Alot of enjoyable moments involve children and since I work at Brian Head Daycare I get to experience most of them. I was kneeling down on the floor during nap time and mechanically picking up the toys when I happened to glance up and see two little girls sharing a mat together. They were sisters roughly aged around 2 1/2 and 4. The younger sister was lying on her side and sleepily gazing up at the movie while the older sister was on her back staring at the ceiling. When the elder of the two glanced down at her sister and realized that she was falling asleep, she slowely sat up and leaned over to smooth the hair back from her sisters face. Leaning over her sister, she tugged their blanket farther across her sister's lap and tucked it in at the sides. Tenderly, she leaned over and asked if she was warm enough. After the mumbled yes, the older sister glanced back at me and put she index finger to her lips, indicating that I should be quiet. Most children hold some fondness for their siblings but a child up until a certain age is naturally self absorbed and won't even consider their brother/sister until they have first considered themselves. The older sisters complete focus on the younger was shocking and heart felt
