Love it!!
I like your ambiguous use of the word "change." Can you strengthen "and not getting me anywhere"? Maybe something like, "and stops me in my tracks."--kind of like aversion to change halts progression. Just a thought...
This has a great double meaning to it. I like the ending if you look at it as a double meaning and not just as pennies...such as change in your life.
