Than Everett and Elizabeth hear over the news that a car went off a cliff near Mt. Sharp but the body has not been found, they do however, expect that the driver is dead. Everett and Elizabeth know right away that it is Melanie's body, they become convinced that she is not dead and go up to Mt. Sharp to look for Elizabeth. They end up following a trial into a dark cave with mysterious engravings and markings on it. After walking through the cave which gets deeper and deeper, they start to hear crying and find that it is Melanie and she is soaking wet. It has not rained in Sharp town for at least a year and there are no bodies of open water around so they become very confused. And the plot thickens.
