A kind, soft-spoken janitor, John, is making his daily rounds through an apartment complex. His regular morning routine is interrupted when a beautiful, pregnant woman, Sandy, requests he come over at lunch. John rushes home to get dressed up for the engagement with the lovely acquaintance. At about noon, John knocks on Sandy’s door in date attire with roses in hand. Unfortunately, Sandy only needs him to get something down off a high shelf. John apologizes, saying he’s always thought she was the perfect girl. To alleviate the awkwardness of the situation, Sandy invites him to stay for lunch. The two talk for several hours, but he eventually had to return to work. At 2:00 a.m. John gets a call from Sandy, asking for a ride to the hospital – she’s in labor. Of course, John takes her. At the hospital Sandy has a son. John’s mind is flooded with possibilities for both of them, after all she did call him! But he also had questions: can he take care of them? Where is the father?
